Khopeshed!

I am relatively happy with my sea serpent fang, or relatively unhappy, as you prefer to see it. It is pretty rubbish at my current sword bonuses (424) at hitting and killing most rivals beyond Ephebe smugglers. I doubt I could easily defeat with one a hoplite or a citadel guard. In fact, I mostly use it for finishing very damaged, individual rivals.

Aesthetically, I rather like some of the new weapons you can find at the djinn outpost, and had gotten for myself a gold-veined Khopesh some time ago. I feel like it hits slightly less than the fang, and its magical power (invoking flames that do some extra damage) is underwhelming, particularly when fighting trolls. But I decided to give it a second chance and retrieve it from my vault. It is a really lovely item:

Halfway between a sword and a huge sickle, this intimidating khopesh has been forged with such skill that it is nothing short of a work of art.  The Klatchian steel of the crescent-shaped blade gleams with seams of glowing gold, and the inside edge is ornamented with painstakingly detailed scrollwork.  The hilt is secured within an ivory grip, itself embellished with intricate carvings, all seared black.  It is every bit as lethal as it is beautiful.
The faintest of yellow-green flames can be seen washing over the surface.  You should be able to invoke their power with the right skills.
It has the hazy octarine sparkle of a magical talisman.
It is in excellent condition.

It fits into only one sheathe I know, which can also be gotten at the outpost: the jewelled belt loop:

This is a simple loop of strong black leather that has been embellished with rich bronze stitching and set with a repeating diamond-shaped pattern of fire opals.  It would be perfect for attaching to a belt to hold a hafted weapon securely.
It could sheathe a mace, hammer, baton, whip, cane, flail, wrench, torch, khopesh or axe.
It is in excellent condition.

So I am going back to it! I guess at the very least, it might give me some talismanic tms from time to time. And it really matches my Klatchian aesthetics!

On a separate but related note, I also went back in another respect: to the Copperhead mines! In this last trip, I wasn't very lucky with the gems (only some relatively low quality aventurines, opals and obsidians), but I compensated by being quite successful with crate-inspecting. I found myself three medium-sized brass bars, five medium-sized copper bars, four very small silver bars and ten very small copper bars. Enough to occupy me with some finesmithing for the next couple of days.
