Ellamandyr's Hyaline Amulet

What's it called? Ellamandyr's Hyaline Amulet (in short, EHA2)

What does it do? Well, it supposedly creates a 'protective' amulet. Nobody seems to know much about its uses, aside from the fact that it looks superb. Apparently, it shields you from rain (but certainly not from sweat). Any other protective or 'healing' qualities (as implied perhaps in its name?) are yet to be researched.

Where is it? Search for it and start crafting at the Sto Lat library, inside the fabled Thee Secrets of Artifyce and Crafte grimoire.

What does it require? A wand and a container with water. Not too small, this container (a tumbler won't do. A teapot is perfect. And it has to be clear, plain water, like the one you get in fountains, not in the Ankh...). Also, a silver necklace, which isn't exactly *consumed*, but rather *transformed* into a hyaline amulet.

What skills do I need? Wand, Water, Binding, Silver

Has it worked? A succesful output reads something like this:

You prepare to cast Ellamandyr's Hyaline Amulet on the xxx (water recipient).
You stir the water carefully with your wand, meditating on the nature of wetness.
You concentrate on the nature of vines, forcing the water to rise and twine along the length of your wand.
You shape the image of a pendant in your mind, and bind the twining strands of water into a solid form around it.
With a flicker of magic, you reshape the silver necklace into a glittering white ribbon and fasten on the newly created pendant.
The delicate hyaline amulet settles in your hands softly, like the first snowfall of winter.

The amulet looks like this:

Tiny and delicate, this pendant has been made from uncountable threads of clouded crystal, cold to the touch. They weave around each other in a complex pattern, reminiscent one moment of brambles or ivy and the next of falling snow or the surface of a mountain stream. It hangs from a smooth ribbon, with a silver-white sheen like ice, which wraps closely around the wearer's neck.

After a year has passed (discworld year, which should make it about 4 months of playing time), the amulet will melt away with the following message:

Your delicate hyaline amulet softly and silently melts away with the turn of the year, leaving only a lingering touch like a snowflake.
